This Privacy Policy explains how Blackwell Sp. z o.o., a Polish limited liability company ("Blackwell", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use PDFEditorX and the website at pdfeditorx.com (the "Service"). Blackwell Sp. z o.o. is the operator of PDFEditorX, the data controller for personal data processed through the Service, and the merchant of record for its subscriptions and payments.

PDFEditorX is a web-based PDF editing and document productivity service operated by Blackwell Sp. z o.o., part of the Blackwell software group. We are committed to handling your personal data lawfully, transparently, and securely, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws. This Policy applies to the PDFEditorX website, applications, and related services.

2. What information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

– Account information such as your name, email address, and account credentials; – Billing information necessary to process your subscription (handled by our payment processor - we do not store full card numbers); – Files and documents you upload to be edited, converted, compressed, or merged; – Communications you send us, including support requests and feedback.

2.2 Information collected automatically

– Device and browser data (type, version, operating system, IP address); – Usage and analytics data about how you interact with the Service; – Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7); – Approximate location derived from your IP address (country/city level).

2.3 Information from third parties

If you choose to sign in using a third-party provider (such as Google or Apple), we receive basic profile information from that provider in accordance with your settings there.

3. How we use your information

We process personal data for the following purposes and on the following GDPR legal bases: – To provide the Service - performance of our contract with you; – To process payments and subscriptions - performance of contract and legal obligation; – To communicate with you (service notices, support) - performance of contract and our legitimate interests; – To personalize and improve the Service - our legitimate interests; – To prevent fraud and keep the Service secure - our legitimate interests and legal obligation; – To comply with legal obligations - legal obligation; – To send marketing - only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Subscriptions & payment processing

4.1 We do not store your full credit card details or sensitive payment credentials. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment processor, Stripe (and, where offered, other providers such as PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay). Blackwell Sp. z o.o. is the merchant of record for PDFEditorX subscriptions.

4.2 Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until cancelled. You can cancel at any time before your next billing date through your account settings; cancellation stops future renewals.

4.3 If a free trial is offered, we will tell you the trial length and the price that applies when it ends. Trials convert to a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends.

4.4 We offer a 14-day satisfaction guarantee on new subscriptions, as described in our Terms of Service.

5. Content you upload

– Files are stored only temporarily while we perform the task you requested; – Guest users: uploaded files are automatically deleted shortly after processing; – Registered users: files may be retained in your dashboard so you can access them, and you can delete them at any time; – Please do not upload government identity documents, biometric data, or sensitive financial details. The Service is not intended for processing such information.

6. Data sharing & disclosure

We share personal data only as necessary, with:

– Service providers acting on our behalf - for example our payment processor (Stripe), hosting, and analytics providers; – Authorities or third parties where required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our users; – A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganization; – Other parties with your consent.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7. Cookies & tracking technologies

We use essential cookies (required for the Service to function), analytics cookies (to understand usage), and functional cookies (to remember your preferences). You can control cookies through your browser settings, and where required by law we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

8. International data transfers

We are based in the European Union. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA - for example to service providers in other countries - we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.

9. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Uploaded files are retained as described in Section 5.

10. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. 11. Children's privacy

PDFEditorX is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by your jurisdiction (16 in much of the EU; in any case not under 13). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
